Markus Zöller is a freelance illustrator living and working in Würzburg. He studied illustration and design at the University of Applied Sciences of Würzburg from 1995 to 2002. Among his mentors were Nicolai Sarafov, Erwin Grießel.

During that time he wrote and illustrated several books and other things. He finished his study with an artistic adaption of „Pinocchio's Adventures".

Since 2004 he works for children‘s book-publishers and has illustrated over 35 books. His other works include illustrating puzzles, character-designs, advertisement illustration and artistic drafts.
